Methanol/Chloroform Precipitation

Methanol Chloroform Precipitation:

1. Any volume of sample between 100-200ul in Eppendorf tube

2. Add 4X volume MeOH; 1X volume CHCl3

3. Vortex

4. Add 3X Volume H20

5. Vortex and spin 1.5 min. in microfuge (Max Rate)

6. Remove most of upper layer (don’t disturb interface)

7. Add 3X volume MeOH

8. Vortex and spin 1.5 min. in microfuge (Max Rate)

9. Remove supernatant (carefully, pellet is now ready for solubilization in sample buffer)
